The eye has many components and is the most difficult facial feature to makeup. If you don’t want your painting to be too detailed, leave out the eyelids, corner membrane, and possibly even the lashes. The pupil should be black or extremely dark using burnt umber, with a reflection. This reflection or catch-light should be two-toned, corresponding to the whites of the eyes. The iris will always have multiple tones and will never be a single colour. The whites of the eyes are never pure white, but rather shades of grey, and are unlikely to be the brightest spot on the face or the entire painting. I usually add a smidgeon of red.
Paint what you see when painting eyelashes. People’s eyelashes rarely protrude straight up like in a cartoon! Typically, eyelashes protrude slightly upward and sideways. They are also commonly found in small clumps. When it comes to painting a man’s eyelashes, I’ve discovered that sometimes less is more. Sometimes they only get one or two tiny lashes. The same can be said for children and even women. Before applying the lashes, draw a few representative lines to represent them. Also, don’t make them too long or they’ll look unnatural.
It is not impossible to learn how to apply eyeshadow for weddings by colored brows tutorial that looks amazing, but the fairy princess look can make it appear as if magic happened. To achieve this look, select the appropriate eyeshadow for your eye colour. Brown eyes are the easiest to work with because they are a neutral colour that allows you to choose whatever colour your inner princess desires. Most warm colours will look good on blue eyes. Purples, peaches, and violets seem to bring out the best in green and hazel eyes, while cool purples and charcoals look best on grey eyes.
Choose a high sparkle colour that complements your chosen hues. Coppers and golds work well with warmer tones, while silvers work well with cooler effects. Find a tutorial for your favourite matte look and follow it to the letter. Now comes the exciting part. Put a few drops of olive oil in an empty eyeshadow palette or small dish. Sprinkle in enough sparkle colour to absorb most of the oil while leaving it tacky. Begin gently dabbing around the outer corner of the eye with a cotton swab after stirring. Continue adding until you reach your hairline and, depending on your desired look, down onto the upper cheekbone.
You can either leave it in tiny dotted dabs or fill it until it is a sparkly mask. Apply in the same way to the undereye area and where you draw your eyeliner. After about an hour, take a large blending brush and lightly blend all over the eye area with a bit of the sparkle. This effect creates an intense look of high fantasy that looks fantastic in photographs.
Vampy vixens will adore this second look. High pigment shadows produce the best results, so buy a black, white, and colour of your choice before you start applying eyeshadow. Begin by applying white to the entire eyelid, from lashes to browline. With a large, soft brush, blend in as much white as possible before beginning with a harder, thinner stroke of white, following the entire arch of the brow and the entire length of the upper lid where the eyeliner goes, but twice as thick. Drag the black from the inner crease to an inch past the outer eye and fill in the rest with your preferred colour, dragging the upper and lower portions to the same colour.
Use a large blending brush to carefully blend the white from inner to outer eye. Pick up some more of the colours with a smaller blending tool and trace over the colour lines to make them more intense and defined. Apply your eyeliner and mascara after lightly blending with horizontal swipes. Beware, other bloodsuckers: tonight is your night to shine!
